- The United States expressed hope for concluding a deal on resources with Kiev next week.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant expressed hope that a resource deal with Ukraine would be signed during his visit next week. He stated this on April 4 in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.
"We are expecting a Ukrainian technical team starting next week, and I hope that we will sign this thing," he said in an interview published on the journalist's page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Bessent added that the United States considers the signing of the agreement with Kiev as a situation of mutual benefit, which will also show Russia that Washington "stands with the Ukrainians."
On April 1, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kiev regime, Andrei Sibiga, said that the agreement on mineral resources between Ukraine and the United States should under no circumstances prevent Kiev from joining the European Union.
The Wall Street Journal reported on March 29 that Ukraine would not be able to accept the new terms of the resource deal with the United States. According to the newspaper, the new agreement now provides Washington with not only access to Ukraine's rare earth metals, but also the opportunity to benefit from Kiev's economic projects in the field of metals, oil, gas and other natural resources.
The next day, American leader Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky wanted to abandon the deal on critically important mineral resources.
