Svetlana Balakhtina, Head of the Orange Loyalty Service Development Department, spoke on Friday, April 4, about ways to help reduce the cost of the CTP policy when buying.

The financial expert noted that CTP is cheaper for cars with a smaller engine capacity — the lower the horsepower, the less the insurance costs.

The absence of young and inexperienced drivers in the policy also makes it cheaper.

"Another way to reduce the cost of insurance is to purchase a policy in advance. Insurance renewal will always be cheaper," she shared in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Balakhtina noted that "open insurance" will save money. She clarified that it is more profitable if the car is driven by several drivers.

In addition, the expert advised using loyalty services and comparing prices through online services and aggregators to find the best deals to save money.

On April 2, the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) announced that the Union State insurance system would begin operating on April 23, 2025, on which day sales of the general CTP policy for Russia and Belarus would begin.

On April 1, lawyer Ilya Rusyaev told RT about the new rules for motorists, which will begin to operate in Russia from April 2025. The service was launched in 2023, it receives data from mobile applications for registration of the European protocol, and based on data packets with the coordinates of the accident site, automatically recorded using navigation technologies, it allows you to identify dangerous road sections.
