Cooperation between Russia and Abkhazia continues to develop successfully in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, while the ongoing large-scale joint projects meet the interests of both Moscow and Sukhumi. This was announced on April 4 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In a congratulatory telegram to Vladimir Delba on the occasion of his appointment to the post of Prime Minister of Abkhazia, Mishustin expressed confidence that Delba's work would contribute to the development of the economy and social sphere of Abkhazia, as well as to improving the standard of living of the population of the republic.

"I would like to note the importance of further strengthening Russian-Abkhaz relations based on the principles of friendship, good-neighborliness and alliance. The expansion of trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and the implementation of major joint projects in various fields fully meet the interests of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia," the telegram reads in the Telegram channel of the Government of the Russian Federation.

On April 3, President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba appointed Delba Prime Minister of the republic, signing a corresponding decree. The President accepted the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers.

On April 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Badra Gunba on assuming the post of head of Abkhazia. He called the peoples of Russia and Abkhazia fraternal and stressed that they share a common history.
