- Rubio did not rule out congressional pressure on Trump to impose sanctions against Russia

The US Congress intends to require President Donald Trump to tighten sanctions against Russia, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on April 4.
"There will be increasing pressure from Capitol Hill to impose sanctions, which we will not be able to stop unless we actually move towards peace," he said on Fox News.
Rubio added that congressmen have already begun to develop bills for the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions.
On March 7, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant announced that the United States would be ready to "go all in" and impose new sanctions on the Russian energy industry in order to end the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, this can help to achieve maximum effect in a short time.
