Alexey Sopin appointed General Manager of Avangard Hockey Club

Former Dynamo Moscow sports director Alexei Sopin has become the new general manager of the Avangard hockey club. This was announced on April 4 by the club's press service in its Telegram channel.

"The playoffs are in full swing, but the club's work outside the ice never stops. We are pleased to announce the beginning of cooperation with Alexey Sopin," said German Chistyakov, CEO of HC Avangard.

It is noted that Sopin, who played for the club himself at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, will oversee the development of the main team, as well as strengthening the sports vertical of Avangard, including the academy.

"The harmonious combination of these areas is the key to great achievements, which we always strive for," concluded Chistyakov.

Sopin left the post of sports director of HC Dynamo at his own request on February 12. At that time, Viktor Voronin, President and Chairman of the Dynamo Board of Directors, noted that such a decision was unexpected and there were no candidates for this position yet.
