The State Duma proposed to return a discount for motorists in the amount of 50% upon timely payment of the fine. The relevant amendments will be proposed by deputies of the LDPR faction, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs said in his Telegram channel on April 4 Yaroslav Nilov.
The parliamentarian announced these plans, expressing support for the bill proposed by Vasily Piskarev, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption. The document provides for the possibility, in case of timely payment, to receive a discount of 50% of the administrative fine for violations of requirements in the field of entrepreneurial and other economic activities identified during the prosecutor's inspection.
The law on increasing fines for a number of traffic violations was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 26, 2024. Also, the amendments, which came into force on January 1, 2025, reduced from 50% to 25% the discount rate from which a motorist can promptly pay a fine for violating traffic rules.
On April 2, it was reported that the State Duma rejected three bills on automotive topics. One proposed to introduce a discount on the fine for non—payment of parking, the second — to allow driving a vehicle in the absence of physical documents, the third - to modify traffic cameras.
