- The political scientist pointed to the skepticism of the United States towards Europe

The administration of US President Donald Trump is skeptical about Europe. In the future, tension between the parties will increase and the fragile Euro-Atlantic cooperation will collapse, political analyst Alexander Asafov believes. He told Izvestia about this on April 4.
"According to the information we know from the secret chat in Signal, we see the attitude of both [US Vice President Jay Dee] Vance and others quite expressed. The word "freeloaders" was used there," he noted.
According to the expert, the Trump administration is skeptical about Europe. The duties recently introduced by Trump clearly show this. At the same time, the tension will increase.
"Fragile Euro-Atlantic cooperation will collapse, because the Americans need full vassalage that brings profit, and not some kind of agreements in the name of peace, in the name of world order, and so on. And in this sense, the political pragmatism of the new US administration is quite obvious. In the future, the Americans' task, as they have repeatedly said, is to shift the burden of Ukraine's support to Europe, and they are actually trying to do this not only with Europe, but also in all other areas," Asafov added.
Yesterday, in an interview with Newsmax TV channel, Vance said that European politicians are mistaken when they claim that Russia is the main threat to Europe, because in reality the threat comes from their internal problems. In his opinion, migration policy destroys the cultural basis of Europe, and economic policy reduces the competitiveness of countries.
