The auto expert listed the disadvantages of repainting car parts

Repainting car body parts due to small chips and scratches is not worth it for a number of reasons. So, when selling a car, this will raise questions from a potential buyer who suspects the seller of concealing the car's involvement in an accident. At the same time, with native paint, the price of a car on the "secondary market" is higher, said Alexey Kryukov, director of Rolf Avtogarant, on March 4.
"Even a perfectly painted part after an accident or repainting will be determined by a thickness gauge. In addition, do not forget that repainted parts are less protected from corrosion," the Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Kryukov.
The specialist reminded that repainting is expensive, long and not always of high quality. The cost of working with one part, for example, with a wing, costs from 10 to 30 thousand rubles, depending on the region and the level of service. Even good craftsmen can always get 100% into the shade, especially if the car is 2-3 years old and the paint has burned out.
If there are chips, scratches and scuffs on the body, that the paintwork can be saved without interfering with the factory structure with a pencil touch-up, local repairs or micropolishing can be carried out. You should also apply a protective coating (wax, ceramics, quartz), which will strengthen the paintwork and mask minor defects, carry out regular washing and polishing of the body, as well as apply a film to the risk areas.
The day before, auto expert Nikolai Pogulyaev recalled that worn tires significantly increase braking distance, and traction deteriorates with critically low tread depth. Tires with a small tread drain water worse, which increases the risk of aquaplaning.
On March 26, auto expert Vadim Strelbitsky said that with the arrival of spring, many car owners encounter unexpected breakdowns that went unnoticed in winter. The expert named the effects of corrosion as one of the main problems.
