Major repairs in one of the buildings of the Botkin Hospital have been completed in Moscow.

Modernization of the tenth building of the Moscow International Scientific and Cultural Center has been completed in Moscow. Botkin Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in the capital. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his Telegram channel.

In the course of the work, in particular, the covering of corridors and stairwells from Metlakh tiles was restored. "The interstory floors were replaced, the building structures were reinforced, the foundation was waterproofing, the rafter system and roofing were restored, and new engineering networks were laid," the mayor said.

The renovated building houses the scientific and academic building, where 27 departments of leading medical research centers and universities will be transferred. The building is equipped with transformable lecture halls and classrooms with multimedia systems.

The mayor also recalled that the building of the 1909 building is an object of cultural heritage. Therefore, during the overhaul, restoration measures were carried out: in particular, the bay windows, the brick decor of the facade surfaces and the attic of the main entrance were preserved. "The brick walls were cleaned and painted dark red," Sobyanin wrote, noting that this was the method of decoration used in the first half of the twentieth century.

In early March, Sobyanin announced that a new helipad had appeared at the hospital on the territory of the Veresaev State Clinical Hospital in the Dmitrovsky district of the capital. The site can be used 24/7, there is a control room, a stand for weather equipment and a wind indicator, and special lighting equipment. According to the mayor, the number of such sites at Moscow hospitals will gradually increase.
