- Ukraine has announced the start of negotiations on the deployment of a NATO military contingent

A meeting of representatives of France, Great Britain and Ukraine on the possible deployment of a military contingent after the settlement of the conflict with Russia has started in Kiev. This was reported on April 4 by the local newspaper "Public".
"The purpose of the visit of the French-British delegation to the Ukrainian capital is to discuss the possibility of deploying a foreign contingent in Ukraine," the article says.
The fact that the meeting has already begun was confirmed to the publication by a source in diplomatic circles. According to him, negotiations are taking place at the level of the chiefs of military staff. The French delegation is led by General Thierry Burkhardt, and the British delegation is led by Admiral Anthony Radakin.
In addition, they are scheduled to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on April 3 that the European Union (EU) is exploring the possibility of using NATO command structures when deploying a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine. The coalition of the willing discussed an initiative according to which the alliance's command and control structures should be used when deploying "security forces" in the country.
