Polish law enforcement authorities are looking for an attacker who tore down and burned 11 flags of Poland and the European Union (EU) at the Museum of the Second World War, which is located on the Westerplatte peninsula in Gdansk. RMF informed about this on April 4 with reference to the local police.

"It has been established that an unknown criminal tore down and destroyed the flags of Poland and the European Union. An investigation team and a dog handler with a bloodhound are working at the site," said Gdansk Police spokeswoman Magdalena Ciskaya.

According to the information of the museum staff, the attacker also caused damage to the mechanisms of raising flags on the mast. The total damage amounted to approximately $10 — $15 thousand zloty.

"We will also provide any evidence we have that can help identify the perpetrator and explain the circumstances of the incident," said Alexandra Travinskaya, a spokeswoman for the cultural institution.

Earlier, on April 1, Gazeda Prawna reported on the detention in Poland of a Ukrainian who poured gasoline and set fire to his employer. It was clarified that the victim was taken to a medical facility in serious condition.
