- Peskov called the law on the status of a veteran important for volunteers in the Kursk region.

On April 4, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the adoption of a law on granting the status of a combat veteran to fighters in the Kursk region important.
"We are talking about fulfilling the instructions of the President [of Russia Vladimir Putin]. This is exactly what the head of state was talking about and, of course, we are satisfied that this law has already been implemented," he said at a briefing.
According to Peskov, the law takes into account all the nuances related to the situation around the Kursk region. According to him, this applies to many people who heroically serve and fight for the liberation of Russian territories.
At a meeting on April 3, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a law on extending the status of combat veterans to military personnel performing combat missions in the Kursk region. It clarifies that the law applies to those who have become disabled due to injuries or illnesses sustained while performing these tasks. According to the amendments, it is proposed to extend these standards to employees of federal services, and veteran status will also be granted to volunteers performing these tasks.
