Krasnoyarsk resident sues over twice-removed appendicitis

A resident of Krasnoyarsk sued the city hospital, where he had his appendicitis removed. He is trying to recover compensation for moral damage due to the fact that he had to undergo surgery a second time. The case is being considered by the Sverdlovsk District Court.
The man was admitted to the surgical department of the Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital No. 7 on April 13, 2023. They cut out his appendicitis there.
Almost two years later, on March 22, while traveling and staying outside Krasnoyarsk, his abdominal pain worsened. The patient was taken to another hospital, where he underwent appendicitis surgery again.
According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, an expert examination has been appointed to determine the quality of medical care provided.
Earlier in March, Izvestia wrote that in Russia it is proposed to characterize the actions of doctors to treat a patient as "medical care", whereas today they are called "medical service". Changing the terms will partially decriminalize their work.
