The Ostrovsky Prize will be increased sevenfold in Moscow.

The size of the Nikolai Ostrovsky award will increase almost sevenfold — from 150,000 to 1 million rubles. The corresponding decree was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
As reported on the website mos.ru The prize is awarded to people with disabilities and citizens who help them, as well as to teams that have achieved outstanding success in various fields of creativity and other fields of activity.
Starting this year, the prize will be awarded in ten categories, for example, for outstanding achievements in the visual arts, for contributions to the integration of people with disabilities in the creative industries, and for significant contributions to the upbringing and comprehensive development of children and youth in an inclusive society.
In addition, it is now possible to become a participant in the competition again, subject to the procedure for nominating and selecting candidates.
The deadline for accepting applications has also been extended — until September 14 (previously — until September 1).
The award was established in 2018. As noted on mos.ru In recent years, more than 70 people have become laureates.
