The IDF announced the elimination of a Hamas commander in Lebanon during a strike on Saida

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has eliminated the commander of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Hassan Farhat, in western Lebanon as a result of a strike in the Saida area. This was announced on April 4 by the press service of the Israeli army.

"An Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese coastal town of Saida killed a senior Hamas commander overnight. According to the military, Hassan Farhat led the Hamas forces in the western sector of Lebanon," The Times of Israel newspaper quoted the IDF as saying.

It is noted that Farhat "posed a threat to Israel and its citizens."

Earlier, on April 2, it was reported that the Israeli Air Force intercepted two rockets launched into the country from the Gaza Strip. No damage or injuries were reported as a result of the attack.

Prior to that, on April 1, the Israeli armed forces also intercepted a rocket launched from the Palestinian territory. As a result of the attack, sirens went off in border settlements, including Sderot, Ibim and Or-ha-Ner.
