Sobyanin spoke about Moscow's leadership among European countries in terms of the number of electric buses

Moscow ranks first in Europe in terms of the number of electric buses — more than 2.3 thousand cars travel to routes in the capital. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

About 650 electric buses will be added to the city's fleet this year, Sobyanin noted, adding that a new model developed by order of the capital is being prepared for mass production.

"It will have an increased power reserve after recharging. Traction batteries for the car will be produced at a factory in Krasnaya Pakhra," the mayor said.

There will also be more than 250 new EHS facilities in the capital this year.

Electric buses operate on 190 routes and carry over 900,000 people daily. The cars meet strict standards of passenger service and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment, Sobyanin stressed.
