Two-year-old boy swallowed 26 magnetic balls in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, doctors rescued a two-year-old boy who swallowed 26 magnetic balls from a construction kit. This was announced on April 4 by the head of the Ministry of Health of the republic, Airat Rakhmatullin, in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that during the game the boy started coughing, and the parents noticed that several magnetic balls were missing. The child was taken to a regional hospital, where, after examining the abdominal cavity, doctors found foreign bodies.

"The air ambulance delivered a small patient to the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital. The doctors decided on surgical intervention, during which the neodymium magnet balls were removed," the message says.

Rakhmatullin assured that nothing threatens the child's health now.

In February of this year, the Ministry of Health of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District reported that a two-year-old child died after swallowing 18 small magnets. It was noted that he was admitted to Gubkin hospital in serious condition. Doctors promptly carried out diagnostics and resuscitation measures, but it was not possible to save the child.
