The UOC reported on the revision by the commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine of the nationality of the relics in the Lavra

The Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine does not just inspect the relics of the saints of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, but conducts their ethnic audit. The Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) told Izvestia about this on Friday, April 4.

"They don't understand that they are destroying themselves as people and destroying their state. Now we can say with absolute certainty that the state of Ukraine will no longer exist," said Vadim Mingalev, a political scientist and candidate of historical sciences.

The commission takes samples of the materials of the relics in the caves. The UOC believes that saints are being tested for ethnicity. At the same time, as explained by Alexander Rakitko, Director of science at the Medical Genetic Center, genetically Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians are descendants of the same genera, so the differences will be minimal.

"Samples are being taken. Why, in fact, samples should be taken from the relics for such a genetic analysis is not entirely clear. Well, in any case, it seems to me that there is some kind of blackmail on the part of the Ukrainian authorities. Blackmail of both the Russian Orthodox Church and the entire Orthodox world," said Vladislav Petrushenko, a doctor of church history and professor at the Moscow State University.

The Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) announced the beginning of the seizure of the Nearby caves of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on March 28. It was noted that police officers entered the closed premises of the monastery. One of the employees of the lavra was spotted on the territory with a saw "Bulgarian" in his hands. On March 6, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced that a special commission would assess the condition and safety of the relics of saints in the Near and Far caves of the Kiev Caves Lavra.
