Polish Minister Kolodziejczak offered to buy or lease the port of Odessa

The Polish authorities could buy or lease the port of Odessa for use by their citizens. This was announced on April 3 by Michal Kolodziejczak, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland.
"We must have a vision of Poland in relation to Ukraine. <...> Why don't we talk in Poland about what I want to propose now — that Ukrainians lease, for example, for 50 years or sell us a marina where Poles could have their own grain port?" RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The Minister noted that by having this port at its disposal, the country could open new trade routes to Africa and sell wheat more profitably.
He also appealed to Ukraine with a proposal to sell 500 thousand hectares of agricultural land for cattle breeding.
In October 2024, the media reported on the destruction of valuable cargo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a strike of the Russian Armed Forces in the port of Odessa. It is specified that the missile strike caused secondary detonations at the unloading sites, as a result of which two Ukrainian border guard service boats sank.
