Victims of fetal extrusion filed their first lawsuits

Two women who delivered babies there filed civil claims for compensation for moral damage to Simferopol Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 2, Nikolay Chernyshuk, a lawyer for medical law and director of the Center for the Protection of Citizens' rights in the field of healthcare, told Izvestia.

In Yakutia, at the request of the mother, an exhumation of a baby who died 17 years ago was carried out.

According to the mothers, during childbirth, in both cases, doctors used a banned in Russia method of Crystal, that is, they squeezed out the fetus.

"The use of this technique has led to injuries in women and children," said Nikolai Chernyshuk.

Daria Provotorova had a palliative child. Now she and her husband are demanding compensation for moral damage in the amount of 20 million rubles each.

After the incident, the girl went to a psychiatrist complaining of feeling unwell, panic attacks, tachycardia, fear of death, obsessive thoughts about her experiences during childbirth, disturbed sleep, severe anxiety, constant repetition of "traumatic birth and everything that happened next", and decreased appetite. She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, according to the lawsuit.

Another victim, Marina Osaulenko, also gave birth in Simferopol Maternity Hospital No. 2, but in 2022. As a result of the extrusion of the fetus, she had a ruptured bladder. And her child did not undergo hearing screening and cardiac screening. She decided to tell about the incident only in 2025.

The woman intends to collect 10 million rubles from the maternity hospital.

Now, according to Nikolai Chernyshuk, at least 20 women with similar stories have been identified.
