The Russian Ambassador to Slovakia commented on the upcoming meeting between Putin and Fico

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is likely to take place during events in Moscow on May 9, Russian Ambassador to Bratislava Igor Bratchikov told Izvestia.

"In Slovakia, the memory of Soviet soldiers is preserved very carefully"

Natalia Balanova, a member of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots, speaks about historical memory, monument protection and cases of vandalism.

"I will not anticipate, but I am absolutely sure that the contact will take place during the solemn events in Moscow," the diplomat said.

Preparations for Robert Fico's visit on May 9 are already actively underway — the Prime Minister's escort is being formed, the ambassador said.
