- An American who entered Belarus from Lithuania in a freight car wanted to stay in the country

Anton Ross, a US citizen who illegally crossed the Belarusian-Lithuanian border in a freight train departing from Lithuania, wanted to stay in the Republic of Belarus. He said this in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel on April 3.
"I feel good, the food is excellent, the conditions are excellent. It so happened that my paperwork is difficult, and in desperation I tried my last attempt to get to you here. <...> Everything is fine, they are treating me well, and they are asking for help if there is any way to stay. To tell mom that everything is fine, they are fed, watered, warm, the conditions are good, everything is fine," said the 27-year-old American.
During a conversation with reporters, Ross also denied earlier rumors that he might be a US Army soldier who disappeared during exercises in Lithuania.
"I've never served in any kind of army. I have nothing to do with the situation when [NATO soldiers] drowned during the exercises," he said.
It is reported that the American currently has "some health problems" that Belarusian specialists are involved in solving.
Earlier, on March 6, border guards in Belarus detained a Ukrainian who intended to travel to Russia to carry out extremist activities. It clarifies that the Ukrainian is prohibited from entering Russia and Belarus as a person who harbored intentions to destabilize the socio-political situation of the countries in the interests of Ukraine. In addition, criminal cases have been initiated against his accomplices for organizing illegal migration. They face up to seven years in prison.
