The father of American billionaire Elon Musk, Errol Musk— declared his family's admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He made the corresponding statement in an interview with BBC News, published on the YouTube video hosting site.

"I think as a family, we definitely admire Mr. Putin a little bit. It would be foolish not to admire, because he is always calm. I listen to his speeches, he says logical things. If you evaluate him as a man to a man, <...> it is very difficult not to feel admiration for Mr. Putin," he said.

According to Musk, Putin has become for him an example of a strong leader who can be trusted.

During the conversation, he also quoted his son Ilona, who said that the conflict in Ukraine had become "the biggest corruption machine in the history of mankind."

"This is corruption, theft and fraud," the American billionaire told his father.

Earlier, on March 2, the Politico newspaper learned about the likely departure of Elon Musk from the post of head of the Department of state Efficiency (DOGE) in the near future. At the same time, according to the publication, dissatisfaction with Musk's unpredictability is growing within the US administration, and some officials "view him as a political burden." It is clarified that after leaving Musk, he may retain the unofficial role of adviser.
