The head of Zelensky's office was convicted of controlling trafficking in organs of Ukrainians

The scheme of illegal seizure of anatomical materials from people for their further transplantation involves not only the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, but also, as it turned out, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak. Izvestia learned about this on Thursday, April 3.

The head of the President's office is a co-owner of the public organization Union of Consumers of Medical Products, which manages Medstandart. In 2020, these structures began to have a wide uncontrolled reach in the market, said our correspondent Denis Kulaga.

"This dirty business is pulling its strings to the very top. This cannot happen without the approval of Zelensky's office," says political analyst Ivan Mezyuho.

Even then, more than one criminal case was opened against Ermak's organizations, but the Verkhovna Rada unexpectedly adopted law No. 5610 "On regulating the issue of transplantation of human anatomical materials." According to this decree, the consent of a living donor or his relatives for organ harvesting was no longer required.

As noted by Igor Semenovsky, PhD in Law, the Parliament also adopted amendments to the tax legislation that facilitate the transplantation regime.

Since the beginning of the special military operation (SVO), there has been complete arbitrariness in transplantation, experts say. For example, in Artemovsk, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), during the fighting, civilians were buried without the necessary certificates, which are issued in hospitals.

"We had an agreement with the funeral services so that if they couldn't get help, they could be buried," said the chief doctor of the Artemivsk city polyclinic.

That is, it is impossible to find out what happened to the bodies of the victims.

In addition, a law passed before the start of the SVR played a role, which allowed the seizure of human anatomical materials without notarial consent. For example, eyewitnesses who managed to escape the hands of Ukrainian field surgeons recall how lightly wounded fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) unexpectedly died in medical institutions.

"They rewound it, they said it was okay, the skin was damaged, but the organs were not affected. And for some reason, he accidentally died quickly in the same hospital in Konstantinovka," one of them said.

And in the summer of 2023, a man was detained on the border of Ukraine with Slovakia, who, according to investigators, was involved in trafficking Ukrainian children, including for organ transplants. According to preliminary data, the attacker is related to the Medstandart company, owned by Ermak.

It is noteworthy that the bail that the court determined for the criminal was only one million hryvnias (about 2 million rubles). Thus, someone from high-ranking patrons probably intervened.

The bail was paid, and the attacker was released. However, Ermak's companies continue their activities.

On April 1, doctors from Artemovsk told Izvestia that the militants of the 93rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Kholodny Yar" (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) regularly find themselves in places where the Ukrainian army is suffering heavy losses. Among the organizers of this activity are officials of the country's Ministry of Health, who may be hiding in the UK.
