An investigation by the Investigative Committee of Russia has begun into the release of a chemical substance at an industrial enterprise in the Balakovo district of the Saratov region, during which workers were injured. This was announced on April 3 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.

"The investigative department for the city of Balakovo has organized a procedural check on the fact of injury to employees of one of the organizations in the Balakovo district," the Investigative Committee said.

It is specified that the incident occurred on April 3. Several employees of the plant were injured during the emergency, and medical assistance is being provided to all of them.

"Based on the results of the audit, an appropriate procedural decision will be made," the agency concluded.

Earlier, on February 19, a factory worker died in the Balakovo district of the Saratov region due to the release of a chemical substance. It is noted that an appropriate procedural decision will be made based on the results of the audit. According to the source of Izvestia, an ammonia leak could have occurred at the enterprise.
