- The Russian permanent representative pointed to the lack of a UN response to the killings of Russian journalists.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, said that the continued silence of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk over the murder of Russian journalists by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would be tantamount to "silent complicity." The statement was published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on April 3.
"Enough time has passed since these tragic events for relevant international human rights organizations to respond to them in a balanced manner. Only the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk and his Office are in no hurry to publicly condemn them," the document says.
Gatilov noted that he had sent an official letter to the Turk, in which he described in detail the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants on Russian correspondents. He added that the lack of reaction from the UN representatives would be tantamount to their tacit complicity in the numerous crimes of the Kiev regime.
On March 25, Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, said that the murders of Russian journalists were seen as a continuation of Nazi practices on the part of Ukraine.
The death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak in the SVR zone became known on March 24. On the same day, Andrey Panov, the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died.
Later, on March 26, it became known about the death of Channel One's war correspondent Anna Prokofieva. A car with a film crew was blown up by a mine planted by Ukrainian militants in the Belgorod region.
