Belarusian police have detained about 40 people who participated in the organization and operation of a network of fraudulent call centers in the country. This was reported on April 3 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

"GUBOPiK operatives (The Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption. The Interior Ministry detained about 40 people involved in the operation of a network of fraudulent call centers in Belarus," the department's Telegram channel says.

In order to deceive people and get their savings, the defendants called themselves employees of well-known trading companies. And they offered to make "profitable investments" in non-existent business projects.

It is noted that dozens of Russians are among the victims of the fraudulent scheme. A criminal case has been opened under the article on fraud committed by an organized group.
