Chernyshenko expressed Russia's solidarity with Cuba over US sanctions

Russia regards the new US sanctions against Cuba as a manifestation of impotence and expresses full solidarity with the republic. This was stated on April 3 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting with the Governor of Santiago de Cuba province, Manuel Falcon Hernandez.
"We regard the new American sanctions against Cuba as a manifestation of impotence and confirm our full solidarity with the republic," Chernyshenko said.
He also added that Russia will continue to seek the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism and the end of its blockade.
Earlier, on March 27, the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, said that parliamentary ties strengthen relations between Russia and Cuba. She stressed that the confidential dialogue between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Caneli Bermudez sets the tone for a complex of strategic partnership relations.
