The owner of the hybrid Lixiang was demanded to pay extra for recycling

Russian motorists who bought hybrids and electric cars have started receiving additional charges from commercial recycling at a new rate. Claims against the owner of the Lixiang L6 crossover arose from one of the Siberian departments of the Federal Customs Service, reports Quto.ru April 3rd.
So, the buyer of the hybrid crossover was required to pay an additional 634.8 thousand rubles, before that the customs broker paid 32.6 thousand rubles for the car.
Since March 1, the payment of scrap began to be monitored when registering a car with the State Traffic Inspectorate. If the car is imported from abroad for personal use, the owner pays for the recycling at a "preferential" rate (3.4-5.2 thousand rubles for individuals), but during the year he is prohibited from reselling the vehicle. If it is initially imported for resale, then the recycling must be paid in full at the rates for legal entities.
Previously, for electric cars and hybrids, the coefficient used to determine the size of the scrap collection was 1.63 (for models under three years old) and 6.1 (for models over three years old), then from January 1, 2025, they amount to 33.37 and 58.7, respectively. Taking into account the base rate of 20 thousand rubles in monetary terms, this amounts to 667.4 thousand and 1,174 million rubles, respectively. Previously, the amount of scrap collection for such machines was 32.6 thousand rubles and 122 thousand rubles.
On March 26, it was reported that the Sinomach Auto concern signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Lixiang (Li Auto) and began forming a dealer network in Russia. Three models will enter the market — the L6, L7 and L9 crossovers. The completion of certification and the start of official car sales in the Russian Federation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
