US President Donald Trump has decided not to impose trade duties on goods from Russia, Belarus, Cuba and North Korea, as these countries are already under US sanctions. This was announced on April 3 by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, quoted by the Axios portal.

"However, Leavitt noted that Cuba, Belarus and <North Korea> were also not included because the existing tariffs and sanctions against them are already so high," the publication says.

In addition, the White House spokeswoman added that Russia may face additional severe sanctions in the future.

On April 2, Trump announced large-scale trade measures: base tariffs of 10% are being introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For the EU, this figure has been raised to 20%, and for China — to 34%. In his speech, the president called April 2 the day when Americans will become rich again.
