Irina Lyalina, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the State University of Education, told Izvestia on April 9 how to preserve youth.
She explained that step—by—step care will preserve the turgor - elasticity - of the skin and prevent it from becoming "thinner" with age. The expert recommended using mild products without aggressive surfactants for cleansing, and creams with hyaluronic acid and ceramides for moisturizing. Serums with vitamin C, E, and niacinamide are used as antioxidants.
Retinoids, derivatives of vitamin A, which act on the sebaceous gland, inhibiting its activity and reducing its size, also help to renew the skin. Lyalina clarified: you can use peels: AHA/BHA acids to exfoliate and brighten the skin.
The expert also warned that in summer it is necessary to protect yourself from the sun. She advised using sunscreen SPF 30 and above daily and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition, according to Lyalina, facial massages and yoga will help maintain the oval.
"An important factor in maintaining skin elasticity is 1.5–2 liters of water per day. Quality sleep for 7-9 hours in a cool, darkened room will improve blood circulation and help saturate the skin with oxygen. Use a silk pillowcase to reduce creases," the specialist recommended.
However, she noted that a healthy diet is necessary to maintain youthful skin, so you need to eat more vegetables, fruits, greens, proteins, and omega-3 foods: fish, nuts, and flaxseed oil. Sugar and processed foods, according to the expert, should be kept to a minimum.
"Minimize stress, avoid chronic sleep deprivation and anxiety. Give up bad habits — smoking and alcohol accelerate aging and reduce collagen production," concluded Lyalina.
Earlier, on April 2, Natalia Tkachenko, a cosmetology chemist and founder of the beauty brand Roz Mary, told Izvestia what products to use to prolong the youthfulness of the skin. According to her, you can use home surface peels to exfoliate skin cells that are "clogged" with pigment, or contact a cosmetologist who will do a median peeling. And in order for the skin to stay young and elastic longer, you need to use products that contain retinol, the expert advises.
