- The Polytechnic Museum has become a co-organizer of the "Film Science!" contest.

On April 2, applications for the annual creative contest of scientific videos and photographs "Shoot Science!" began, implemented jointly with the popular science and educational channel "Science". It originated nine years ago and today is one of the largest and most popular photo and video contests in the world.
This year's competition, which is open to both professionals and amateurs, has a new nomination on the topic of science and technology — "Polytechnic", established by the Polytechnic Museum.
"Science is not only the driving force of progress, but also the creative process, and creativity is always interesting and beautiful. The opportunity to show the beauty and attractiveness of scientific activity with the help of photo and video materials corresponds to the Polytechnic Museum's concept of popularization of science. That is why this year we have established a new nomination of the competition, which we have named “Polytechnic”. This theme provides the contestants with a huge scope for creativity, because technology surrounds a modern person almost everywhere and always. However, we do not limit the contestants to any time frame. Maybe you will want to show the technologies of the future somehow and you will find an original way to do it..." commented Dmitry Aleksandrovich Kozhanov, General Director of the Polytechnic Museum.
The All-Russian SCIENCE 0+ Festival, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, co-organized the "Take Science!" contest. The competition is traditionally held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo.
"The contest "Take off science!” it has become a real laboratory of creative discoveries, where bright works are born every year that can captivate science and inspire their own experiments. We are waiting for authors who are not afraid to look at familiar things in a new way and share their amazing findings with the world," said Alexey Rezepkin, editor-in—chief of the Nauka channel and chairman of the competition jury.
The "Shoot Science!" contest consists of two parts: it evaluates photos and videos related to science. Traditionally, the Russian Science Foundation has become the fundamental partner of Shoot Science!, which this season, together with Skoltech, will award a special Perspektiva prize to the best photographic work selected from among the finalists of the competition.
"We want to offer the contestants a new, slightly different perspective on science and its phenomena in the world around us. The winner will visit Moscow with guided tours of the historic building of the Board of Trustees, where our foundation is located, and the Skoltech campus. And the participants of the competition and everyone who wants to take a similar route virtually, in 360° format," says Andrey Blinov, Deputy General Director of the Russian Science Foundation.
Applications for the photo contest are accepted until June 2, and for the video contest — until September 2, 2025.
More information about the contest is available on the official website.
