Burak the cat, who illegally sailed to Novorossiysk from Istanbul on a ship of the FESCO transport and logistics company, has been living in the port of the Russian city for the fourth week, a source told RIA Novosti on April 3.

The cat arrived in Novorossiysk on March 11, hiding on a Russian ship. During the voyage, the sailors came up with a nickname for him. If at first he did not have any conditions for staying at the port, now he feels quite comfortable.

"The traveler has acquired a couch, a scratching post and other attributes of a relatively comfortable existence. And the carrier, in which the cat had to spend the night for the first few days, was replaced by a fairly spacious cage," the source said.

At the same time, FESCO representatives believe that an illegally arrived animal can be officially deported home to Turkey. Although there are many people in Novorossiysk who want to shelter Burak, he cannot leave the customs zone without permission. At the same time, an undeclared animal also has no right to go to Istanbul without documents. To solve the problem, FESCO contacted the Rosselkhoznadzor.

Also on August 3, it was reported that in the Leningrad region, volunteers of the Oktyabrskaya Railway (OZhD) are looking for a dog that ran into an electric train unaccompanied by its owner. The dog ran into the carriage on April 1 at Popovka station. During the inspection, it was established that the train crew did not kick the dog out of the train. However, the dog himself ran out of the train when the train arrived at Kolpino station.
