In the Irkutsk region, an intoxicated driver skidded in the river, trying to escape the chase. This was announced on April 3 by the press service of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate.

They noted that while patrolling the village of Dundai in the Bokhansky district, traffic police inspectors drew attention to a motorist who was driving at high speed and making dangerous maneuvers.

Fleeing from pursuit, he drove onto a country road, and then tried to ford a river, but stalled. The violator was detained and helped out of the car.

According to the agency, a 64-year-old local resident was driving with obvious signs of intoxication, but he refused to undergo a medical examination.

"Administrative materials have been drawn up against an intoxicated motorist for refusing to undergo an examination and failing to comply with the requirement to stop the vehicle," the Telegram channel of the State Traffic Inspectorate added.

On March 19, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported that police officers had used their service weapons to detain an intoxicated driver. It was clarified that during the patrol, the Nissan car did not respond to the demands to stop the traffic police crew, significantly increasing its speed.
