A meeting of the Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) took place in Moscow Anton Kobyakov with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham Russia) By Robert Agee.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of business cooperation. Anton Kobyakov stressed: "Russia is open to partnership, and companies wishing to return can do so on a competitive basis within the framework of the current legal framework. It is important that this process is transparent, and the business adheres to the principles of integrity and responsibility. The art of opportunity lies in explaining the benefits of the Russian market to businesses competently and intelligibly, finding effective solutions and building mutually beneficial cooperation in new conditions."

One of the key issues of the meeting was the participation of American businesses in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held from June 18 to 21, 2025. Despite the decrease in the presence of American companies at the Forum after 2021, representatives of the US business community continue to participate in the event, and a number of companies are expected to participate in 2025. Initiative applications have already been received, which confirms the interest in dialogue and interaction. SPIEF remains a platform for exchanging opinions and discussing topical issues of cooperation.

The parties also noted that the organization of the Russia-USA business dialogue within the framework of the Forum would contribute to the development of business contacts and the search for new opportunities. Foreign companies continue to operate in Russia, and the creation of effective cooperation mechanisms will contribute to further business development.

During the dialogue, it is proposed to discuss issues of global sustainable development, innovative security solutions, as well as aspects of ESG and corporate responsibility. The Forum provides an opportunity for open discussion and exchange of experience between representatives of international business.

Robert Agee confirmed the intention of AmCham Russia to continue cooperation and stressed that the multipolar world is based on common values shared by the peoples and business communities of different countries. They create the foundation for sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation.

"It is important that companies that continue to operate in Russia have clear and transparent conditions for the development of their activities. Business is always focused on growth, the search for new solutions and partnership – such opportunities are provided by the SPIEF platform and other forums organized by the Roscongress Foundation, being a valuable tool for interaction. I also plan to talk in Washington about the opportunities that Russia provides to American companies, not only in such areas as innovative solutions in medical safety and ESG," he said.

AmCham Russia actively cooperates with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). The Chamber intends to integrate into the SPIEF 2025 business program and fully supports initiatives aimed at restoring partnerships. The possibility of organizing a round table within the framework of SPIEF 2025 is also being considered.

In addition, the prospects for AmCham Russia's participation in the Russian Energy Week, which will be held on October 15-17, 2025, as well as in other projects of the Roscongress Foundation, were considered, which will expand international cooperation at various venues.
