A pensioner from Moscow lost her only home and savings of 1.8 million rubles a year ago, allegedly under the influence of hypnosis. She was 92 years old at the time, a source told Izvestia on April 3.

"A year ago, an elderly woman, being, according to her, under hypnosis or the influence of a fraudster, reissued an apartment for her under a donation agreement," the source explained.

The con artist also convinced the pensioner to allegedly insure all her savings in her name — 1.8 million rubles. The victim withdrew cash from her accounts, and the fraudster asked her to transfer the money to her so that she would not lose or drop it. As a result, the funds remained with the attacker.

The total damage amounted to about 10 million rubles. The woman contacted the police only a year later. An inspection is underway.

On April 2, it became known that a resident of the capital sold two apartments for 37 million rubles, jewelry, antique icons and sent money to fraudsters. The attackers introduced themselves as FSB officers and threatened to initiate criminal proceedings.

On the same day, fraudsters extorted almost 60 million rubles from a pensioner in Moscow. An 80-year-old man received a call from unknown people under the pretext of replacing electricity meters and asked to dictate a text message code. After that, he began receiving calls about banking transactions on his accounts — as a result, he withdrew all his savings, sold the car and transferred the money to the "collector".
