The father of former professional skater Konstantin Balishansky intends to recover 20 million rubles from Andrei Demin, accused of murdering his son. This was announced on April 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Moscow City Court.

"I had to watch online how my son was shot in the head several times. They called me and asked me to turn on the TV. There were about 200 calls in parallel," recalls the man involved in the case of the victims.

In his opinion, Demin perceived everything that was happening as entertainment.

The man described his deceased son as a kind and sympathetic person. He stressed that he wanted to recover 20 million rubles from Demin as compensation for moral damage — according to the man, after Konstantin's death, he became depressed and had health problems.

The murder took place on June 6, 2024 in the west of Moscow. Demin shot Balishansky, 34, several times and fled, and was detained by law enforcement officers on the same day. During the resistance, the man shot at the police at least 15 times, was wounded and hospitalized in serious condition, and then underwent surgery.

Demin and Balishansky had known each other since their youth and lived in neighboring houses. Demin admitted that since 2019 he had intended to kill a man out of personal hostility. Like the deceased, he was fond of skateboarding, sold equipment for skaters and was a journalist for a thematic publication.
