Over the past day, 214 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 23 people were killed and 234 injured. 21 deaths were recorded among the drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on April 3 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 70 accidents, 18 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 52 outside their area of operation, nine pedestrians were killed, and 64 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 14 children under the age of 16, five of whom were injured while crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing.

On Wednesday, 12 bus accidents were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 16 more road users, including two children, were injured. Seven bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

30 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 30 young road users were injured, including 10 passengers, four cyclists and one motor vehicle driver. There are no dead children.

In some regions of the country, traffic is temporarily blocked due to a difficult flood situation or unfavorable weather. For example, in the Republic of North Ossetia—Alania, traffic on the A-164 Transcam federal highway from the village of Buron (65 km) to the northern portal of the Roki tunnel (94 km) has been temporarily suspended since yesterday evening due to heavy rains and rockfall.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan, traffic on one of the highways of regional importance was temporarily stopped due to flooding of the roadway by flood waters. A similar situation has arisen in the Altai Territory. In the Kurgan region, three regional highways were also blocked due to flooding of the roadway.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that motorists, when planning long-distance trips in these and neighboring regions, monitor the weather forecast and media information from traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast, you should temporarily refrain from using personal vehicles.

"We would like to draw the attention of drivers to the fact that during the changing seasons, they should be extremely careful when driving: avoid sudden rash maneuvers and changes of lanes, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, and do not exceed the speed limit. It is necessary to travel by car at any time of the day with external lighting devices turned on, fog lights must be used in bad weather, and in conditions of heavy fog or heavy precipitation, reduce speed as much as possible and move with the alarm lights on. In case of an accident, it is necessary to identify the scene, call the Traffic police, and if there are victims, an ambulance team," Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

The day before, it was reported that the State Duma rejected three bills on automotive topics. One proposed to introduce a discount on the fine for non—payment of parking, the second — to allow driving a vehicle in the absence of physical documents, the third - to modify traffic cameras.
