- Ryabkov announced the promotion of dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States on bilateral irritants

Russia and the United States have achieved some success in eliminating bilateral irritants in their relations, but it is too early to talk about significant breakthroughs. This was announced on April 3 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
"If we are talking about our relations, then today, in addition to the dialogue on the Ukrainian crisis and those aspects related to it, such as the Black Sea initiative, we have a separate and dynamically developing track on bilateral irritants," he said in an interview with the International Life magazine.
According to Ryabkov, this work on important aspects in relations between Moscow and Washington is currently focused on simplifying the visa process, improving mutual travel mechanisms and resolving issues related to normal financial transfers for the functioning of diplomatic institutions.
In addition, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that when resuming dialogue with the United States on strategic stability, new factors must be taken into account, including plans to create the Golden Dome missile defense system. He added that if it starts working, Russia will develop positions aimed at strengthening national security.
As for the economic sphere, Ryabkov expressed the hope that Moscow and Washington will be able to start "some kind of movement forward." However, he noted that there are several issues that require attention, including the resumption of direct flights between the two countries.
Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, announced on April 3 that he was holding meetings in Washington with representatives of the administration of the American leader Donald Trump. According to Dmitriev, restoring dialogue is always a difficult and gradual process, but each meeting allows us to "move forward."
