Rosstandart named the number of recalled Toyota and Lexus to replace the engine
The number of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX 600 vehicles that have been recalled in Russia for engine replacement is 1,913 units. Such data was published by Rosstandart.
As previously reported by Toyota Motor, the recall campaign is associated with the risk of an emergency due to possible engine failure in these SUVs. The vehicles involved in the recall were produced between April 26, 2021 and February 08, 2022 and are equipped with a V35A series engine.
As a result of manufacturing defects, the remnants of engine machining remain inside it and may stick to the bearings, which will lead to their failure, the company said. The result will be knocks in the engine, its uneven operation, the inability to start the engine and stop it. If power is lost on the move, the risk of an accident increases.
The owners of such cars were invited to official dealerships, where a free engine replacement will be carried out.
The day before, Russia announced the recall of 18.6 thousand cars of the Chinese brand BAIC for the installation of the ERA-GLONASS emergency call system. The recall covers all BAIC models released from January 31, 2023 to July 14, 2024.
On March 7, it was reported that Toyota Motor was recalling 2,233 Toyota Highlander vehicles in Russia, which were sold from November 28, 2020 to April 21, 2023. The reason for the recall was the increased risk of injury in an accident by passengers who sit in the back seats.
