A court in Sochi sentenced a man who beat his roommate's daughter to death to 18 years.

The Central District Court of Sochi sentenced to 18 years in prison a man who beat to death with a belt the seven-year-old daughter of his roommate. This was announced on April 3 by the united press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.

It was established that the defendant, being dissatisfied with the child's behavior, inflicted multiple blows on her with a leather belt in the area of vital organs. As a result of the incident, the girl died in an ambulance.

The men were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 117 ("Torture") and part 4 of Article 111 ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health"). He was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

"Taking into account the dangerous recidivism of the committed crime, the convicted person should serve his sentence in a special regime colony," the press service's Telegram channel says.

On February 3, the child disappeared in the Kaliningrad region. His stepfather was arrested on suspicion of murdering the missing boy. According to the man, he beat the child for refusing to perform physical exercises. A criminal case was opened on this fact.
