The pilots of the TU-22MZ aircraft, which crashed in the Usolsky district of the Irkutsk region, took the malfunctioning vessel away from residential homes in the Angara region. Governor Igor Kobzev informed about this on April 3.

"The crew of the plane that crashed in the Usolsky district did everything to divert the faulty side from residential buildings. <...> Low bow to high—class professionals and words of condolences to the family and friends of the deceased pilot," Kobzev wrote on his Telegram channel.

The head of the region added that their families will receive assistance.

Earlier, on April 2, it became known about the crash of the Tu-22MZ aircraft near the village of Buret. Four crew members were able to eject, but one of them died on landing. As a result of the incident, no infrastructure damage or civilian casualties were identified.
