Six wildfires occurred in the Eastern Administrative District in two days

Six wildfires have been recorded in the EAO over the past two days. They are located outside the settlements in the Leninsky and Oktyabrsky districts.
The data were presented at a meeting of the Commission on emergency prevention and response and fire safety, which was chaired by Acting Head of the regional government Igor Chagaev. The territorial department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that since the beginning of the year, 17 thermal points have been registered in the autonomy. This is much less compared to the same period in 2024. Then, at the beginning of April, there were already 353 of them, writes IA EAOmedia with reference to the regional government.
It is noted that weather conditions contribute to low fire danger. The risk of forest fires and the fall of dry grass is reduced by regular precipitation in the form of snow. However, as it was said at the meeting, preparations for possible fires must begin now.
Special attention should be paid to unauthorized landfills. They are the main source of fires. According to the acting head of the regional government, well-organized clean-up days will ensure both order in settlements and the safety of local residents.
Earlier, on April 2, it was reported that a storm warning had been issued in the Chelyabinsk Region for two days. High fire danger is predicted in the region. The fourth class of forest burning will be established on April 2 and 3 in some areas. An increase in the number of fires is possible due to the unfavorable environment.
