Viktor Basargin was dismissed from the post of head of Rostransnadzor

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin dismissed Viktor Basargin from the post of head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport (Rostransnadzor) due to his retirement. The corresponding order was posted on April 3 on the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation.
"Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin appointed interim Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport [Rostransnadzor] Victor Gulin. The order has been signed," the message says.
Previously, he served as deputy head of the department. He also worked in various positions in the service for about 17 years. Basargin served as head of the department from 2017 to 2025.
On March 26, it became known about the unscheduled inspections of water transport facilities in the Azov-Black Sea basin by Rostransnadzor after the oil spill due to the tanker crash in the Kerch Strait. The agency also plans to monitor compliance with the law in the ports of the region.
