In Severouralsk, a worker died due to a rock collapse in a mine. This was announced on Thursday, April 3, by the press service of the SU IC of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region.
"Late on the evening of April 2, a mining strike occurred at a mine located in the village of Kalya in the city of Severouralsk, resulting in a rock collapse at a height of more than 1,000 m," the department said in a Telegram channel message.
The UK is conducting an investigation into the incident in which the worker died. Employees will find out if there are signs of a crime under Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities).
A forensic medical examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death of the deceased miner.
Earlier, on December 12, 2024, one worker died in a rock collapse at a mine in the Sverdlovsk region. It was previously established that on December 12, at about 10:23 a.m. (6:23 a.m. Moscow time), a rock collapse occurred at the Severnaya Mine No. 13 as a result of a mining and tectonic impact, as a result of which a worker of the treatment face, born in 1999, was injured.
