Trump invited President Salvador Bukele to the White House

US President Donald Trump invited President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador to the White House on April 14. Bukele published the corresponding letter on April 2 on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
As Trump pointed out, he highly appreciates El Salvador's efforts to combat illegal migration to the United States.
"You have proved to be a true leader and are an example for others who want to cooperate with the United States. I would like to invite you to join me at the White House on April 14, 2025 for an official working visit to discuss this and other ways in which we can support each other," the invitation reads.
Earlier, in February, Bukele said that El Salvador could, for a fee, host and house criminals convicted in the United States in the Terrorist Detention Center (CECOT). According to the politician, the payment for "outsourcing part of the prison system" would be beneficial to both countries.
