The IRGC announced Iran's revision of the defense doctrine in case of military aggression

Iran will review its defense doctrine if threats against its nuclear program are implemented. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by General Yadollah Javani, Deputy head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, special units of the Armed Forces) for political affairs.

"In case of threats against the nuclear program, Iran will review the defense doctrine and the essence of its nuclear program. The essence of this revision is very clear," the Al Alam news agency quoted him as saying.

Javani ruled out the implementation of "none of the stated goals of military aggression, including the destruction of the nuclear industry."

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the United States and Israel could strike Iran to allegedly eliminate the threat posed by its nuclear program. It is specified that the countries are preparing for a military operation against Tehran.

Prior to that, on February 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that there was a resource for diplomacy on Iran's nuclear program. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbasarakchi, in turn, said that at the moment there is no dialogue with the United States on the nuclear deal. According to him, Tehran will continue its relations with Beijing and Moscow on this issue.
