An American court has sentenced Oleg Patsul, a Russian, to 70 months in prison.

A federal court in the US state of Arizona has sentenced Russian Oleg Patsul to 70 months in prison. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by the press service of the US Department of Justice.

Oleg Patsulya, a Russian citizen, was sentenced to 70 months, or almost six years, in prison for his role in conspiring to export controlled aviation technologies to Russia and money laundering in connection with an illegal export scheme.

According to the case file, Patsulya pleaded guilty to two counts of organizing the illegal export of goods from the United States without a license and money laundering on an especially large scale.

After his release, he will have to be under supervision for another 36 months.

On September 16, 2024, the official portal of the US Department of Justice reported on the detention of Russian citizen Denis Postovoy, who is accused of unauthorized export of microelectronics to Russia. It is reported that a 44-year-old Policeman living in Sarasota, Florida, was arrested this morning on charges of conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act, smuggling, money laundering and fraud against the United States.
