Estonia announced the construction of a line of fortifications on the border with Russia

In the autumn, the Estonian government will begin to build a line of fortifications on the border with Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by the portal gosteleradio of the Baltic Republic ERR.

First, it is planned to build a strongpoint of 14 bunkers in the northeast of the border strip and 4 bunkers in the southeast. The fortifications will have to withstand 152 mm ammunition. In total, up to 600 bunkers will be built.

During the construction, the Estonian military plans to take into account the experience of the Ukrainian conflict. In the event of an armed conflict, the military will begin to place minefields, as well as undermine bridges and pipelines in the border zone, Ainar Afanasyev, a representative of the engineering troops of the Estonian Armed Forces, told the newspaper.

Earlier, on March 22, it was reported that Lithuania plans to mine the borders with Russia and Belarus, following the example of Poland.
