Since 2016, the Moscow authorities have allocated 58 sites for the construction of sports facilities to developers and investors as part of the program for the implementation of large-scale investment projects. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Urban Planning and Construction.

According to him, the total area of the plots is 121 hectares. There will be facilities with an area of about 800 thousand square meters, NSN clarifies. It is planned to build ice arenas, tennis centers, a football field and swimming pools. Some of the facilities have already been built and put into operation, Moscow 24 reports.

For example, an ice palace with an arena for spectators, a training ground, a throwing area for hockey players, a gym and other functions were built in the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain. They also built an ice arena in Kurkin. A hockey school was set up there, writes RT.

According to Maxim Gaman, head of the Moscow Department of Urban Property, large-scale investment projects aimed at developing sports infrastructure are currently being implemented in all administrative districts, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In 2024, 17 sports facilities were built in Moscow. Their total area was about 140 thousand square meters. m. Among them are sports and recreation complexes with swimming pools, a rowing base, an ice arena and others.
